In Remembrance of Our Dear Friend, Ed Tucker

Ed Tucker founder of Ellin & Tucker Ed Tucker founder of Ellin & Tucker

On October 16, 2024, Edward Tucker, co-founder of Ellin & Tucker, passed away at the age of 83. Ed was a lifelong resident of Baltimore, and his commitment to “his city” (as he liked to call Baltimore) spread far and wide.

It’s hard to put into words the profound impact Ed Tucker had on those of us fortunate enough to know him, work with him, and witness his dedication to his clients, his community, and, most importantly, his family. He wasn’t just a co-founder of Ellin & Tucker; he was a visionary who cultivated a legacy of integrity, warmth, and leadership that impacted every corner of our community. Whether he was serving clients, volunteering on not-for-profit boards, or mentoring the next generation of accountants, he was a leader who deeply valued people. He encouraged everyone to raise the bar not just for the profession, but for themselves. His joy in nurturing relationships was contagious. One of his greatest talents was helping people become the best versions of themselves. This commitment to personal and professional growth laid the foundation for a culture of caring that still flourishes to this day.

Ed’s generosity of spirit and his dedication to his family, his friends, and his broader community, set a standard we should all strive for. His love for his career created bonds that transcended the office. Those of us who had the chance to work with Ed are forever changed by his leadership and his friendship. His memory will continue to inspire us to lead with kindness, passion, and purpose—just as Ed did every day.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, who were his greatest pride and joy. May his legacy live on in the countless lives he touched.
