Ellin & Tucker Celebrates Winter Promotions

Ellin & Tucker is proud to share the promotions of Jason Fung to senior associate in the tax department and Mark Burney to supervisor in the audit and accounting department.

Jason Fung, who’s from the Baltimore area, joined the Ellin & Tucker tax department as a first-year associate in 2021 upon completing courses at Community College of Baltimore County and becoming a CPA candidate. Since then, his hard work and determination have earned him the well-deserved promotion to senior associate. Jason is thankful for the firm’s supporting culture that helped him achieve this career milestone. He says, “The leaders in the tax department have always made me feel comfortable and been willing to listen, whether I am coming to them with tax questions or to catch up. I am grateful that my teammates cheer me on and encourage me to pursue my goals.”

In 2019, Mark Burney started his career at Ellin & Tucker as a part-time associate while pursuing his bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Baltimore. He then joined the firm as a full-time associate in the audit and accounting department after graduating in 2020. A leader in the firm’s mentoring program, Mark hopes to take on a stronger role in his new position as supervisor, helping foster the firm’s youngest and newest employees. “Everyone is on their own professional journey,” Mark says, “but the amazing part of being on the Ellin & Tucker team is that you don’t have to embark on the journey alone. In my new role, I am excited to champion the next generation and help them grow.”
