After more than 30 years of dedicated service, Ed Brake is stepping down as Ellin & Tucker’s CEO. Current COO Aileen Eskildsen is being appointed to the firm’s top position. Brake will continue to serve as CEO until the end of 2022, when he will transition to an advisory role.
“It has been my great privilege to watch this phenomenal firm evolve to what it is today,” says Brake. “Ellin & Tucker has been an ally of Baltimore for almost 80 years, and a part of my life for 40 years. And while serving as CEO has been a tremendous distinction, the true honor is working alongside so many consummate and engaged professionals, supporting an exceptional collection of sophisticated clients, and working together to strengthen our ever-changing community.”
Assuming the position of CEO is current Director and Chief Operating Officer Aileen Eskildsen. Eskildsen joined the audit and accounting practice of Ellin & Tucker in 1996 and dedicated herself to leading many of the firm’s professional initiatives to build the next generation of leaders. In that time, she rose to the ranks of firm leadership before becoming COO in 2019.
“I can think of no higher professional honor than to help lead Ellin & Tucker,” says Eskildsen. “My entire career has been spent with the firm, and in that time, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to work with strong leaders, like Ed, as well as others who’ve come before me. Ellin & Tucker has an impeccable reputation for integrity and client dedication, and I’m looking forward to ensuring that distinction for many years to come.”
The Ellin & Tucker family applauds Brake’s decades of service and his devotion to the firm, its employees, and the community. With Eskildsen’s ascension to CEO, the firm will continue its legacy of innovation and prosperity, thereby affirming the promise that Ellin & Tucker’s lasting mission is assured.
