Summertime is a warm, wonderful season for getting together with family and friends and having fun. In the spirit of summer, the Giving Back Committee (GBC) recently hosted two events where the E&T team came together in support of local organizations working to help our neighbors in need.
In July, E&T team members competed for a good cause at the GBC’s Game Night fundraiser supporting Living Classrooms Foundation. Participants enjoyed pizza and drinks while they played a variety of games including Mario Kart, Uno, Foosball, Jenga, and more. Donations came from ticket sales for the event as well as employee contributions.
Living Classrooms Foundation’s mission is to strengthen communities and inspire young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training. Through their unique learning environments, this not-for-profit organization provides access to more equitable education, workforce, health, and wellness opportunities that enable individuals to achieve their goals and build safer, stronger, and healthier communities for all.
Later in the summer, as folks started to think ahead to the beginning of the school year, the GBC hosted a Back-to-School Donation Drive for Esperanza Center. Throughout the month of August, our team collected school supplies and backpacks for students in grades kindergarten through 12. After gathering all of the donated items, a group of volunteers packed the backpacks with the supplies and made colorful cards of encouragement for the students at the center.
The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive resource center whose mission is to welcome immigrants by offering hope, compassionate services, and the power to improve their lives. Since 1963, immigrants from all over the world have trusted the center to help them navigate life in a new country. The center provides services related to education, health care, immigration legal matters, and more.
Ellin & Tucker is proud to support Living Classrooms Foundation and Esperanza Center and all the incredible work that they do. We encourage everyone to take time to learn about both of these not-for-profits and how you too can support their missions.
